The sturdy chair is made using 21-1/2-inch natural hardwood slats and a 5-inch shaped top board on a powder-coated oval tube frame designed to endure weather. The slats and frame form a comfortable rounded seat you can sit comfortably in for hours. A convenient wooden tray holds drinks and snacks and can be assembled on either the left or right side of the chair. Assembly is easy with very little hardware involved. Square seat supports and seat brace offer additional strength. Measures 29-1/2 by 35-1/2 by 37-inch.

Standard shipping was quick and chairs were received several days earlier than the estimate. The only drawback is that they have to be assembled. However, anyone can do it by following the instructions. Looks good, very comfortable to sit in, and the gliding action is smooth. I found it to be a good value for the money.Putting it together is not too bad, but you'll want to set aside an hour or so. Before assembly, I coated the wood slats with an exterior polyurethane to keep them water/weather resistant (it's a gift for my Mom, and she will most likely leave it outside year-round). If you plan on protecting the wood with poly or an oil finish such as tung oil you should definitely do so prior to assembly - takes a fraction of the time. The hardware packets are labeled and referenced in the assembly instructions, so finding the right bolt/piece is pretty easy. My only complaints are minor: the assembly sheet could use bigger type and bigger illustrations; and two of the bolt holes in the metal bars were not fully drilled through. A quick pass with a drill got rid of the metal shavings that were blocking the holes... We wanted to get another one for people visiting. It is just the right size for me and my husband(My husband and I are thin. He's 6'3" and I'm 5'4").However, we ended up purchasing this glider online because the other one wasn't available anywhere. These gliders are very large and made for bigger people (wider people). My biggest issue with this glider is that the seat base is large and it is designed for you to sit tilted back further than the Tete A Tete glider. Consequently, my feet don't even touch the ground when I am seated against the back of the chair. I wish I hadn't ordered these chairs. Updated Jan 21,2011: We have since donated these chairs to charity because they were so uncomfortable to sit in. I forgot to mention, ours arrived with rusty arm rests and legs too. |
